| Description: | The first meeting of the SKA Science & Engineering Committee (SSEC) recently took place in Perth, Australia. The SSEC replaces the ISSC (Int. SKA Steering Committee) and advises the SKA Project Development Office (SPDO). It is made up of representatives of the European SKA Consortium, the US Consortium, and the rest of the world. During the first meeting, Ken Kellermann (NRAO) was elected as chairman, and Mike Garrett as vice-chairman. Other members of the SSEC executive include Brian Boyle (past-chair of the ISSC) and Justin Jonas (S. Africa). The rest of the SSEC membership is set to change as both ESKAC and USSKAC elect new members over the coming months.
