The conference will take place at ASTRON Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy in Dwingeloo, the Netherlands. Dwingeloo is in the north-east of the Netherlands, and can be reached in about 20 minutes by either private car or taxi from Hoogeveen railway station. From Amsterdam Schiphol airport to Hoogeveen takes 1h+50min by train.

On Monday 12 May 10:30-12:30 hrs, we will organize shuttle buses from Hoogeveen railway station to ASTRON. This is free of charge. 

In case you need transportation outside this time scope, please email beyondearth@astron.nl to organize a taxi. Kindly note that this at your own expense; costs are Eur 43,25 if booked via ASTRON. There are no taxis waiting outside of Hoogeveen railway station.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION – please make your own reservation before the expiration date

Participants are requested to make and pay for their own hotel room reservation. 

Block reservations have been made at 3 hotels near ASTRON. Bus transportation will be arranged between the hotels and ASTRON (schedule will follow). 

Price: 89 Euro including breakfast, excl. VAT and tax.

End date for reservations: 17 April 2025. After this date, reservations are at the basis of availability and prices may go up. 

Price: 92,50 per room excluding breakfast 14,50, excl. VAT and tourist tax.

Price: Eur 206 including breakfast, excl tourist tax

Train tickets:

Print the ticket of load into the NS app – showing the PDF on your phone is not valid!

Use the barcode of the ticket to open the gates at the station. You don’t need to check in or check out when you purchase a ticket online. 

Before boarding the train, you must always check in with debit card or creditcard (or OV chipkaart if you have this). You can do this at a pole or gate at the entrance to the station. Don’t forget to check out when you are leaving the train!

TRANSPORTATION DURING THE CONFERENCE

As mentioned above, we will arrange bus transportation from/to the hotels during the conference and from/to Hoogeveen railway station arrival and departure. The schedule will follow.
